Once I get everything up and going, I will look into the best way to set.Been wanting to do this for years, but glad I waited because these newer Minis are really fantastic. Pkg that comes with macOS High Sierra as a stand. (Note that you can install rEFIt on a USB stick and boot from that, which is especially useful if your goal is to have just Debian on the system as it simplifies partitioning).RAID Mac OS High Sierra 10. This will be removed but is needed briefly, later. Install rEFIt or rEFInd (a more recently-updated fork). Tested on Mac Mini 3.1 2009 OS X 10.8.2.
Best Os Mini 2009 Upgrade To OrPlays full screen HD Flash videos from Hulu and YouTube just fine, no stuttering. Minis disappear almost as soon as they' re listed on Apple' s refurb store, and can be hard to get, but there' s a site refurb-tracker.com that will scrapes Apple' s site and you can set it up to email you when new Minis show up on the store.Runs super quiet, and is more than adequate for most HTPC needs. Great thing about Apple refurbs is they come with a full years warranty, are eligible for AppleCare same as a brand new units and are always in perfect condition (I' ve bought a Unibody Macbook and a couple iPods all refurb unites from Apple and never had a problem). 26GHz slower processor, specs are same as current gen $599 unit but we also got the 320GB hard drive you usually have to pay a $100 to upgrade to or go with the $799 unit to get a processor and RAM boost too. The Dell Zino HD had just been announced and we considered it, but after we specced it out the way we wanted to it ended up being within a $100 of this and there' s no question that in the long run, both performance wise and both being Mac users, that we would be happier with the Mini.Ended up getting:2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ($499.00 USD)2GB memory320GB hard drive8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB memoryScored a great deal on this Apple refurb unit directly from Apple, a previous rev than currently available, but got it for only $499. In the end getting rid of cable costs and the dual tuner HD Homerun' s abilities are what pushed him into the green.Ideally we' ll buy an Elgato Turbo.264 HD usb stick so that we can export everything out to H.264 and not have to deal as much with the EyeTV interface while watching shows. EyeTV is pretty good, but a few UI and bugs/quirks also make it incredibly frustrating at times but this isn' t the best place to go into that. Due to some combination of a limitation in OS X and my aging Sony plasma, I had to tinker with a utility called DisplayConfigX that allows you to adjust the overscan properly. Also use a combination of Rowmote and TouchPad on our iPhones to also control it. We got the newer Mini that has 5 USB plugs which makes it easy to hook up external drives and other peripherals (we have a networked printer already, but would be great if you had a non-networkable one to plug it in and have a central printer for the house since Mini will most likely always be on.Screen sharing that was built into OS X Leopard/Snow Leopard and a custom alias with an Apple TV logo kept down in the dock on both our laptops make it really easy to control things when we want to do something a little deeper than use front row or the EyeTV full screen menus.I saw a rumor on Engadget earlier today that an HDMI equipped model of the Mini maybe coming out this year, which would be a good step in the right direction for Apple to take. It' s great to have the flexibility that a full computer provides, I dont think I would ever have been happy with an AppleTV, or even something like the Boxee Box. This little guy along with the minuscule HD Homeru, replaced 3 giant boxes in our entertainment center. Low power usage, we replaced a TiVo Series 2 and Time Warner cablebox with this and anecdotally our electric bill has gone down some, although we' ve also been watching more TV since getting it, and our aging plasma is power hog, so those savings might not be as dramatic as they would if say we got a new TV (think I' ll have to wait awhile on that.)Overall couldn' t be more pleased. I do love that with the iPhone EyeTV app and webapp you can stream, view scheduled recordings and set things to record remotely. It slides back in place, connecting with a standard SATA connector. Doing my best Steve Jobs hold up new part pose. The following models are supported: MacBook (2015 or later) MacBook Air (2013 or later) MacBook Pro (Late 2013 or later) Mac mini (2014 or later) iMac (2014 or later) iMac Pro (2017 or later) Mac Pro (2013 or later) To see which model you have, click the Apple icon in your menu bar and choose About. Ps3 ncaa football 14 iso downloadWith FireWire 800, I also plan on adding a Drobo to expand on DVR capibilities. I plan, in the future, to install a few HDTV tuners, but with only USB availble to me, I might have to hold off on that, or find an alternitive. I mostly use it as a companion to my game consoles (older games that aren' t on consoles that i love). Loaded Vista, then later the Win 7 RC. First thing I did was crack it open (Putty Knife, #1 Philips, T6 Torx, Strong Heart required), Upgraded the RAM to 4GB and HDD to 500GB. Just wish it was priced correctly and had a higher RAM ceiling. Even thou a good number of my games that I play on this (Blizzard Titles) will work on this, Gametap isnt fully compatible.Overall, Im satisfied with what I' m getting out of this device. Front Row is a joke and the lack of an intigrated option for DVR, that was a deal killer. I used MacOS X 10.5 since it came out, but found it not right for what i wanted to use it for.
